Bressie talks romance (mentions Kian)

Solo rocker and Voice of Ireland coach Niall Breslin says that he’s shy when it comes to romance.

Talking to this week’s RTÉ Guide the Mullingar man, who is now single after the end of his relationship with fashion designer Eva Maguire, also says he goes for girls with “a presence”.

“Believe it or not, I’m quite shy,” he says. “Most of the relationships I’ve been involved in happened slowly and naturally. I don’t go to nightclubs and say, yeah you’ll do. Let’s go!

“I think the problem with me is that when I’m busy, like The Voice, everything else is irrelevant and girls don’t particularly like that. I like girls who have a presence, when they’re in a room they’re not just hidden in the corner being quiet. I like a strong person.”

In the interview with the Guide Bressie also talks about his relationship with fellow judge Kian Egan. “There is no tension between us,” he claims. “We just have completely different opinions on what we’re looking for. He’s making a TV show and I’m looking to make an album.

“The thing about Westlife is, they have two of the best contemporary male pop vocalists in the country with Mark and Shane and Kian’s been surrounded by them for ten years. It’s a different industry to what I’m in.

“My industry is sh*tty vans, toilet tours, not being to pay for a rehearsal room. That’s where I come from. It’s more real and it’s more rewarding for me.”

There’s Sam ill feeling (Kian article)

COULD Kian Egan’s dissing of Samantha Mumba on RTE’s The Voice of Ireland last Sunday have anything to do with her once spurning his advances?
BAD BLOOD: Samantha and Kian Egan

The Sligoman made no secret of his lust for Samantha around 10 years ago and tried to get up close and personal with her in Dublin’s Lillies Bordello. Kian made a crashing sign when Brian Kennedy made reference to her on last Sunday’s show.

Samantha was in pantomime alongside Richie Hayes in Dublin’s Gaiety and arrived back in her home in L.A. on Thursday. But not before she tweeted while watching last Sunday’s show: “LMAO@a certain boy talkin silly on tv. Surely only ACTUAL vocalists can judge a vocal competition right?!Team @richiehayes2012 all the way!!!”

Kian and Nicky Byrne never did lead vocals, unlike the other lads in the group.

Leigh covers ‘The Power Of Love’

Leigh has uploaded another beautiful cover to her official YouTube channel - this time it is a cover of ‘The Power Of Love’ by Jennifer Rush, and is dedicated to her dear Nana who died 10 years ago. Check it out below:

She really shines here in my opinion: her vocals sound amazing and prove what a raw talent she is!

Gillian has changed her Twitter name

Just so you don’t get confused and think Gillian has deleted her Twitter page (and you haven’t noticed her hubby’s tweets either!), she has simply changed her username. You’ll now find her @Gillian_Filan.

Make sure you’re following her because she comes across as a very friendly and funny lady – some of her tweets make me laugh out loud literally anyway!

Will Westlife’s Kian Egan take Louis Walsh’s chair as an X Factor judge?

An article from the Daily Mail – I guess we shall see what happens…

Wounded Simon Cowell is not in a mood to be messed with and is considering ‘sweeping changes’ to The X Factor later this year, I’m told.

Following his purge of close friend Paula Abdul, as well as Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones, from the U.S. version earlier in the week, he’s turning his attention to  the UK show.

But ITV executives are urging him ‘not to throw the baby out with the bathwater’.

Judges: Could Kian Egan (left) be replacing Louis Walsh (right) on X Factor?

The first decisions to be made are expected to be about the future of host Dermot O’Leary and judge Gary Barlow. ITV would rather they stay but Cowell is not certain.

One new name in the mix to replace the Take That star if he were to depart the talent show is Westlife member Kian Egan.

The Irish singer turned music manager has impressed on his home country’s version of new talent show The Voice and plans to move into the TV world full-time following the band’s farewell tour.

My source says: ‘Kian is highly rated and would be a perfect judge, although whether he is considered will depend on what happens with Louis Walsh.’

Show insiders believe it would be impossible to have both Louis and Kian on the show because they are both so closely connected to the Irish music scene (Louis is Westlife’s manager). ‘In reality, Kian can only be considered  if Louis doesn’t come back,’ a source explains.
